Hi there,
Thanks for contacting us. Currently we do not have any vegan options. Our veggie pies are completely veggie however.
On the vegan side….What would be your dream vegan pie that would also appeal to the vegan masses? We’ll consider creating one….Question is…how do we alert all the vegans in Austin to come eat our vegan pies? The only thing we would have to do different is our crust and figure out a different wash for the top of the pie as opposed to our egg wash.
Let me know your thoughts if you are interested.
Best,
Jack—

What say ye, vegan Austin? I’d like a seitan, mushroom, and vegan ale pie, personally.
Yay! Did you see my veggie pie post last week? I had contacted Jack too and told him he should offer a vegan version. I promised to send him my vegan pie crust recipe, which I still need to do. We need to come up with a great pie because I’ve had 2 people tell me they didn’t like the pies they tried….
mmm seitan, mushroom and vegan ale sounds delish! i second that recommendation, only i’d add kale, spinach or another dark, leafy green.
Something with broccoli, cauliflower, potato, and curry would also kick my ass.
Also, aTxVegn, I’m going to link to your post about pies in my reply email, if that’s okay with you.
oooh yeah, stella!! A curried veggie pie would be so damn good!
Potatoes would be nice for sure, even sweet potatoes might be nice. I also like the leafy green suggestion. I’m not so sure about seitan or any other proteiny type faux meat kind of thing, it’ll already be pretty dense with the dough and all, adding more gluten to the mix sounds really heavy.
That’s fine, Stella. I want to help Jack since he was so nice AND I want the vegan pie to be the best pie he makes. I love the broccoli potato idea. They already have a curry pie. How about something with pintos or black beans?….
how about black beans, pumpkin, cilantro, cumin, garlic, and onion. I make empanadas with that mix and they are really good. And they don’t scream vegan.
