This Weekend

I'll be serving this chili at the Lone Star Vegetarian Chili Cook-Off

There’s a lot going on this weekend. Nearest and dearest to me, is the Lone Star Vegetarian Chili Cook-Off. Despite the name, all the chilis will be 100% vegan. I’ll be at the Texas VegFest booth cooking up five gallons of Texas-style chili to feed my closest 3,000 friends. Come say hi to me!

On Sunday, in Austin, there’s an omelet brunch at Counter Culture.

Chauncey is finally getting the care she needs. She was found in a field barely able to pick up her head. Now she's thriving at Sunny Day Farms.

In San Antonio, Team Sunny Day is running in the Rock’n’Roll Marathon and Half-Marathon. I’m beyond impressed with everyone running. There’s still time to contribute to their fundraising page on Crowdrise. You’ll be donating money to help cute animals like Chancey the llama, who was starved by her previous caretakers. You’ll also be entered to win a prize package that includes a chili mix from me, as well as some fabulous desserts, vegan queso, and cookbooks.

In Dallas, Fort Worth, and Austin, three new veg food carts are open for business. Be one of the first people to check out Jackalope Mobile Kitchen in Dallas, Good Karma Kitchen in Fort Worth, and Arlo’s in Austin.
